'Our Family Hobby'

We began collecting Kenyan Sand Boas initially as a way to conquer our fear of snakes. Then we discovered that the whole family enjoyed the care and handling of Kenyans. It has exploded from there. We like this particular breed of snakes because we have a younger family. These East African Sand Boas are smaller, slower than the other breeds of snakes available, easy to care for and relatively new to the US pet trade with new morphs being introduced every year.

Female High Orange Stripe

This stripe was produced by breeding a high orange female tiger to a rufescen male. The tiger is the product of a rufescen or stripe and high orange normal.

This girl was born this August...

This is a High Orange Tiger Female the mother of the above stripe, Scott Miller sold her to me a year or two ago. She is my favorite female I own, her orange looks like it was painted on, with little to no flecking and by far the best appetite of any of my snakes. We've all been bitten by her while trying to spot clean her cage, changer her water. She will leave her mouse in mid kill to come and try and eat your hand (I think she has terrible eye site and thinks everything that moves is dinner) .

This is a male rufescen, I'm to lazy to find an actual picture of the father. But he pretty much looked just like this except larger. Breeding a male rufescen to a normal will result in a litter of half stripes and half tigers. Although, when I bred my rufescen to the tiger female, I had a litter of 7 stripes....three died, though. She was too small to breed, I should of waited 6 more months but bred her at 225 grams.

This is another picture of the female stripe...interestingly, the mother came from Scott Miller and this female stripe is going back to Scott Miller to be a future breeder.

Nuclear Adult Breeding Pair

If you google search nuclear sand boas you will find Roy Stockwell at the end of the line. He linebred these incredible snakes over a long period of time while selectively keeping the brightest. They are very difficult to find for sale and the majority of the ones being sold as nuclears on the market today are more of a high orange than a nuclear. These pictures don't do the snakes justice, their color is just incredible.

The female is 409 grams and the male was 149 grams, I have put them in the same bin and hope for her first litter soon.
